What Melania Wore Visiting American Red Cross Headquarters

First Lady Melania Trump and Second Lady Karen Pence visited the American Red Cross Headquarters in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday to assemble comfort kits for troops deployed stationed in Romania, Poland, Djibouti, Iraq, and Kuwait.

For the visit, Melania donned a camel-colored leather button-down from Equipment. From the Spring 2019 collection, the ‘Fanette’ leather shirt is made from mushroom leather(vegan leather made from the the underground root structure of mushrooms). It features a single patch pocket on the left side of the chest and contrasting black buttons at the cuffs. It retailed for $550, but unfortunately it is sold out. According to Marie Claire, this specific shirt sold out within just one day of being stocked on Net-A-Porter.

She tucked the leather shirt inside a pair of cropped olive-green dress pants. It is unknown what exact brand the pants are from. She cinched the waist of her pants with a thin dark brown Alligator Engine-Buckle Belt from Ralph Lauren. The belt retailed for $1,750, but unfortunately it is sold out. As for shoes, Melania skipped her go-to designer stilettos and wore a pair of tan and brown python loafers from Zara’s fall ’18 collection. The $50 loafers are sold out and this isn’t the first time she has worn them. Melania first wore these shoes last year in a safari-inspired outfit when visiting Ghana.

Second Lady Karen sported a black top tucked into a cream and taupe skirt with black piping. She accessorized her look with a black belt, black tights and heels.

Melania and Karen were joined by a dozen Cabinet secretaries’ spouses as they stood in an assembly line and put together the comfort kits for troops. The holiday care packages included snacks, personal hygiene items and games for the troops. Also packaged inside the kits was a note form Trump and Pence sending holiday wishes to the troops.

“Along with the spouses of the President’s Cabinet and those of our courageous men and women in uniform, we packed this kit to express our gratitude for the innumerable sacrifices you have made in defense of our freedom,” the note read. “We pray that during this Christmas season the love, respect and gratitude of our nation uplifts and protects you. May God continue to watch over you and all our nation’s service members.”

After assembling the comfort kit, Melania gave a brief remark.

“While most Americans are able to enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas with their families, we have thousands of American troops deployed overseas and separated from their loved ones,” Melania said. “It is important as Americans to do all we can to support our troops and their families. I encourage people everywhere to participate in an act of service this holiday season and give back to our military, who protect our nation’s freedoms.”

She added, “Today, the Red Cross is bringing us together to produce comfort kits that will be sent to American troops across the globe and it is my honor to be here today to support and highlight such an impactful program. Today, I ask that you leave here knowing you will always have the support and respect of my husband and me, especially during the holiday season. We are here for you, we are praying for you, and we appreciate you. Thank you again for having me here today. God Bless America and God bless our troops!”

All the ladies looked impressive. Our First lady always dresses very nicely and Mrs Pence looked good too except I wish she would get her cut or curled or something that improves the styles she wears. She is not an OLD LADY YET but her hair does not help at all. A good stylist could make her look 10 yrs younger. Just giving my opinion but wish she would try a new hair do anyway.
