First Lady Melania Trump helped spread some holiday cheer while visiting sick children at the Children’s National Hospital in Washington D.C. on Friday, touring patients while making snowflakes and sitting down to read them a Christmas book.
For the visit, Melania wore a dark brown turtleneck sweater that was tucked into a turquoise pencil skirt from Prada. The Prada wool midi skirt features a high waist, a back slit at the hem, and an a-line shape silhouette. It retailed for $1,120 and was on sale for $784, but unfortunately, it is now sold out.

She teamed the skirt with a thick brown leather belt from Michael Kors that cinched her waist. As for footwear, Melania topped this stylish simple look with leopard So-Kate Christian Louboutin pumps. The leopard-print dyed calf hair pumps retailed for $825, but unfortunately these are also sold out everywhere.

Melania toured the short-stay unit and surgical unit at the hospital, while also visiting children patients and their families in the playroom where she helped them to make snowflakes. After the tour, she headed to the atrium with Declan McCahan, a patient at the hospital, holding hands as he escorted Melania to her seat on front of the stage. From there, Melania read to the children audience a book called ‘Oliver the Ornament Meets Belle,’ the second in a seven-book series. Last year, Melania read the sequel called ‘Oliver the Ornament.’
Thank you @childrenshealth for inviting me to join your joyous Christmas event. Many thanks to all of the doctors and nurses who go the extra mile to put a smile on children’s faces this holiday season. pic.twitter.com/vNhxwCtsAc

Once Melania finished reading the book, Declan gave the First Lady a bouquet of flowers wrapped in red and white ribbon and a gift on behalf of the Children’s National Hospital. She then began greeting patients in the audience, shaking their hands and even gave one young boy a thumbs up.

Melania’s visit continues a six-decade tradition where every first lady since Bess Truman has visited the hospital during the Christmas season to meet with children who are too sick to leave for the holidays.
It is a festive and busy month for Melania, as last night she joined her husband, President Donald Trump at the 2019 National Christmas Tree lightening in Washington, D.C. On Monday, Melania will join Marines in the annual Toys for Tots at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling followed up participating in a Christmas reception in the White House.

December 10, 2019I’m so glad to see someone commentating in a positive manner about our wonderful First Lady, Melania Trump. She is beautiful inside and out. She is gracious ignoring the ill spoken words and exemplifying her “Be Best” signature program. She is head and shoulders above previous First Ladies and presidential candidates by her class of allowing the mean spirited comments to fall by the wayside. As Catholics do, forgive and forget as God forgives us.

December 10, 2019Turqouise and brown go great together. Melanie looks great in all colors… even yellow; which is a hard color to wear.
Thank you Melania for loving all of our children, including those that are sick and need more love than usual.
