What Melania Wore to the 2018 Easter Egg Roll

For the White House annual 140th Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn, First Lady Melania Trump braved the cold weather in the prettiest pale mineral blue Burberry cashmere trench coat. She paired the trench coat with black skinny jeans from J Brand and knee-high black boots.

The “Sandringham fit trench coat” is cut for a slim profile, according to Burberry, where the minimally-lined design when tied at the waist creates a “defined silhouette.” The double-breasted coat with oversized black buttons is still available and it retails for $2,595 on the Burberry website.

This is the first lady’s second Easter Egg Roll that she plans and coordinates months ahead. For last year’s event, Melania was seen wearing a pale pin sleeveless chiffon maxi dress from Hervé Pierre, paired with pink Christian Louboutin ballet flats.

Over 30,000 were in attendance for Monday’s event. According to tradition, the first lady plays a heavy role in orchestrating the festivities that include an egg hunt, the egg-rolling race and Easter-themed crafts such as cookie decorating. The classic egg-rolling lawn game where children are seen rolling colored eggs down the White House lawn was started by President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1878. During the event, Melania read the book “You” by Sandra Magsamen to children on the lawn. The First Lady introduced a new activity to the annual egg roll — lawn bowling, which featured oversized bowling balls and pins.

Inspired to wear a baby blue trench coat, here are affordable alternatives that will update your spring wardrobe.
