What Melania Wore to Salute To America Event

President Donald Trump alongside First Lady Melania Trump celebrated Fourth of July at the Lincoln Memorial during a special “Salute to America” event.

Despite the rain, for this occasion, Melania wore an off-the-shoulder white striped flared dress from Carolina Herrera. Part of the Spring/Summer 2019 resort collection, this sleeveless midi dress featured multicolored stripes on the flare of the dress, asymmetrical sleeves and oversized tie fastening. It retails for $3,427 on FarFetch.com.

As for footwear, Melania went with one of her favorites, wearing a pair of pink Christian Louboutin’ So Kate pumps. This exact color is currently unavailable for purchase.

Trump’s “Salute to America” program made him the first U.S. president in nearly seven decades to make a Fourth of July address at the National Mall. In 1951, President Harry Truman spoke on the National Mall on July Fourth to mark the anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

“As we gather this evening, in the joy of freedom, we remember that all share a truly extraordinary heritage. Together we are part of one of the greatest stories ever told, the story of America,” Trump said in a speech. “Our nation is stronger today than it ever was before. It is its strongest now. We celebrate our history, our people, and the heroes who proudly defend our flag: the brave men and women of the United States military.”
