What Melania Wore Kicking Off “Be Best” Tour

First Lady Melania Trump kicked her two day “Be Best” tour Monday morning heading to Oklahoma in a chic dark purple coat from Bottega Venata. The long belted Bottega Veneta cashmere trench coat was featured in NYFW Fall/Winter 2018 show retails for $6,680.

Underneath her coat, she wore a chunky yellow cashmere turtleneck sweater by Ralph Lauren, retails for $1,428, paired with a navy pencil skirt. Melania paired this whole outfit with yellow plaid pumps from Manolo Blahnik’s fall 2018 collection. These shoes retail for $695, but are unfortunately sold out. The same model in white, black, red and grey is still available for $695 at Barneys.

The two-day trip will include a three-state visits to Oklahoma, Washington State and Nevada, visiting places and programs to promote the three pillars of her initiative Be Best, which focuses on issues including the well-being of children, online safety, and opioid abuse.

For her first stop, Melania stopped at a Tulsa’s Dove School of Discovery in Tulsa, Oklahoma to partake in coloring activities and story time with pre-kindergarten students. According to the White House, the Dove School of Discovery is an “award-winning elementary school that focuses on incorporating character education throughout its curriculumShe also joined in on six grade classroom where the students showcased their science lab projects, as well as a second grade classroom where they were discussing their homework over the weekend. 

Later on Monday. She will visit a Seattle-area tech company later Monday to learn about programs and apps designed to teach children how to be safe online, and about technology to help children with disabilities.

“Whether it is social media and technology or drug and alcohol abuse, children in our country and around the world are faced with many challenges,” Melania said in a press release. “Through Be Best I will continue to shine a spotlight on the well-being programs that provide children the tools and skills required for emotional, social and physical well-being and promote successful organizations, programs, and people who are helping children overcome some of the issues they face while growing up in the modern world.”

On Tuesday, the First Lady will give remarks and participate in an opioids town hall in Las Vegas, Nevada.
