Melania kept it sophisticated celebrating military mothers ahead of Mother’s Day.
For the occasion, the First Lady wore a dark navy Micheal Kors tuxedo-style dress, a dress she once wore last year at a lunch event honoring teachers of the year. The dress featured ruched sleeves, a deep V-neck and was paired with a black leather waist belt from Prada. The dress from the Michael Kors Collection retailed for $2,995, and it’s currently on sale for $898.50 on the Micheal Kors website.
“Mother’s Day, which is this Sunday, is celebrated just one time per year. I don’t know about all of you, but I think mothers should be celebrated each and every day,” Melania said to applause. “As a mother myself, I know what goes into raising a child. It takes an incredible amount of strength, a lot of time, a generous amount of patience, and all of our love. As moms, we are so incredibly privileged to be able to bring children into this world and be a part of helping them grow into adults.”
Melania’s husband, President Donald Trump was in attendance as he signed an executive order to boost the hiring of military spouses in the federal government.
“For a long time, military spouses have already shown the utmost devotion to our nation, and we want to show you our devotion in return,” President Trump said. “America owes a debt of gratitude to our military spouses — we can never repay you for all that you do.”
We had a wonderful celebration @Whitehouse today to honor some incredible military moms for #MothersDay. My heart & continued prayers stay w/ all our brave military members. I’m proud to support @POTUS in today’s signing to help increase opportunities for military families. pic.twitter.com/VCs8KsScOF
