What Ivanka Wore to 2020 State of the Union

Senior White House adviser Ivanka Trump attended President Trump’s third State of the Union address Tuesday night.

Looking sophisticated for the congressional address, Ivanka donned a black sleeveless midi dress from Givenchy. From the Resort ’20 collection, the midi dress is cut from wool-crepe with a red satin stand collar and military-inspired buttons across the waist.

Ivanka paired the Givenchy midi dress with red suede pumps.

Both Ivanka and Melania wore black for Tuesday’s address, a stark contrast to what many Democrat women wore in wearing white as a symbol of solidarity. Melania donned a black wool skirt suit by Dolce & Gabbana.

During his 90-minute address to Congress, President Trump highlighted his administration’s economic, national security and immigration policies and positioning himself as a champion of the American worker and American families.

One of the biggest surprises that brought many to tears during the night came towards the end when President Trump surprised a military spouse by reuniting her with her Army sergeant husband.

Amy Williams and her two children, who sat beside first lady Melania Trump as one of Trump’s guests at the State of the Union.

Trump began by telling the story of Amy working “full time and volunteers countless hours helping other military families,” all while her husband, Sgt. First Class Townsend Williams is deployed in Afghanistan.

“For the past 7 months, Amy has done it all while her husband, Sergeant First Class Townsend Williams, is in Afghanistan on his fourth deployment to the Middle East,” Trump said. “Amy’s kids have not seen their father’s face in many months.  Amy, your family’s sacrifice makes it possible for all of our families to live in safety and peace and we thank you.”

Trump then added, “there is one more thing tonight we have a very special surprise, I am thrilled to inform you that your husband is back from deployment, he is here with us tonight and we couldn’t keep him waiting any longer.”

Townsend Williams, in his dress uniform quickly walked down the stairs in the gallery to embrace his children and hug his wife. The mom of two put her hand over her mouth as she looked back to see her husband walking toward her to roaring applause. It is surely a military homecoming surprise that nobody will ever forget.

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi stood to applaud. Republicans then loudly chant “USA, USA, USA.”

Wonderful coverage about the First Family — as always. Thank you again for bringing us this information. I would have liked to also see a fashion update on the President’s youngest daughter, Tiffany, perhaps this can be included in the future when she is present at events.

Being a reporter seems a ticket out to the world.
