What Ivanka Wore Heading to Morocco

Stylish while flying!

Senior White House adviser Ivanka Trump headed to Morocco Tuesday evening to promote her Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative, her third overseas trip this year.

Tweeting a picture at Dulles airport wheeling her own suitcase through the terminal, Ivanka looked stylish wearing a gorgeous contrast trench coat by Gabriela Hearst. The ‘Armonia’ double-breasted wool blend trench coat debuted on the label’s Fall 2018 runway. Cut from a wool and cashmere-blend, it is styled as a deconstructed silhouette of a checked body spliced with a a cotton-gabardine hem. It features traditional details of a double-breasted front, buttoned storm flap and detachable belt. It retailed for $2,790, but unfortunately it is sold out everywhere.

She completed the classic flair silhouette look with a pair of Burgundy pumps by her former fashion brand, Ivanka Trump. This exact color is not available for purchase, but a few neutral colors are still available at Amazon.com for about $85.

The visit to Morocco is the third overseas trip that Ivanka has taken this year to promote the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative, which was launched in February to benefit women in developing countries. Ivanka traveled to Ethiopia and Ivory Coast, in sub-Saharan Africa, in April and to Argentina, Colombia and Paraguay in September to promote the initiative.

In August, Ivanka tweeted her support to the Moroccan government after it began the process of adopting the inheritance laws to ensure equality between Moroccan women and men in terms of inheritance. The “process of equality in inheritance” praised by Ivanka alludes to three draft laws on collective land, called “Soulaliyate lands”, unanimously adopted by the Moroccan House of Representatives just before the parliament’s recess. These laws will ensure equality in the distribution of the usufruct of these lands to women and men.

Ivanka will travel with Sean Cairncross, CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corp., an independent U.S. foreign aid agency that provides grants to developing countries to help promote economic growth, reduce poverty and strengthen institutions. They will meet with government officials and local leaders in Morocco’s capital, Rabat, and in Casablanca from Nov. 6-8 to discuss how to help women in the region gain economic independence.

While this eye-catching two-tone trench coat is not available for purchase, check out below similar options for less below.
