Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced Tuesday that the Senate will vote next Monday to confirm President Trump’s nominee Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.
"Since you became a legal adult, have you ever made unwanted requests for sexual favors, or committed any physical or verbal harassment or assault of a sexual nature?" Hirono asked Barrett to which the Judge responded "No."
Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) made her twitter moment that Democrats crave to make, asking Judge Amy Coney Barrett Tuesday the most bizarre and now buzzed question asked during her 30 minute allotted time — has she been the perpetrator of any sexual misconduct.
Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee all had the same unison message, portray Judge Amy Coney Barrett as a threat to Obamacare, and rushing her nomination to the high courts is “life and death” to the millions of Americans who depend on the Affordable Care Act.
"If I am fortunate enough to be confirmed, I pledge to faithfully and impartially discharge my duties to the American people as an Associate Justice," Barrett said.
Judge Amy Coney Barrett after listening to almost five hours of opening statements from each of the Republican and Democratic members of the Senate Judiciary Committee was sworn in, formally introducing herself to the committee in her opening statement where she vowed to serve “faithfully and impartially.”
