Nearly all of the seven Republican Senators who sided with Democrats by voting to convict former President Donald Trump on Saturday are now facing significant blowback in their home states including facing censure and criticism from within the party.
"Honestly, it has gotten harder and harder to break through the partisan gridlock and make progress on substantive policy, and that has contributed to my decision," Portman said in a statement.
