Summer might be gone, but that doesn’t mean your favorite pair of shorts have to be put away. Shorts-in-the-cold-season look, have become a fall fashion trend the past couple of years. In the world of fashion, it’s all about styling. Since shorts do show a lot of leg skin, pairing it with a cozy long knitted cardigan and over the knee boots, not only keeps one warm during a chilly fall day, but makes your outfit chic and sexy. The key is to make sure your outfit look is weather appropriate or you might get the rude Pretty Women comments as you are strutting away.
Can I just scream to my lovely followers on how happy I was when #MrOctober had taken me pumpkin picking upstate New York during a chilly late October afternoon. I never went pumpkin picking, let alone with a significant other, so when he decided to share this experience with me, I was legit the happiest girl that day. Since neither of us went to a pumpkin farm, we had planned to go pumpkin picking the day before Halloween (the only day he had a day off). When we arrived it was pretty obvious that it was the last week of pumpkin picking as people had already taken the spectacular pumpkins (Lesson learn to go in early October). I had these visions on our way there of rows and rows of the different colors and size pumpkins in one place, only to find that most of the pumpkins were medium sized and all orange. Oh well, I’m still happy that I got to go pumpkin picking.
For my pumpkin picking outfit, I decided to get a little creative with my outfit by wearing shorts from Hollister. When it comes to jeans, Hollister is preferable the only brand I invest in. To me, Hollister jeans fit my lower body like a glove, from its shape and hold, while giving my legs a contoured look and they don’t stretch out over time like most jeans do after washes. As for jean shorts, Hollister is also my go to place for shorts based off the comfort as well as the length and width.
I paired my shorts with a white ribbed knit turtle neck long sleeve top. This made it easier to match my outfit with a cardigan and boots to complete the look. As for the cardigan, I wore a heavy, fitted long duster cardigan also from Hollister in the color cream. There’s just something about a long cardigan with shorter bottoms that makes an outfit fun and Fall-worthy.
The finishing touch that brought this whole look together? The perfect pair of over the knee boots. Over the knee boots can make any outfit more feminine and chic, also look really sexy. Here, I wore my Steve Madden OTK boots in Taupe color. These are my chunky heel suede boots that made it comfortable to wear all day walking around the farm and elsewhere compare to stiletto OTK boots.
