Melania Trump Returning to Campaign Trail, Joining The President Tuesday At Pennsylvania Rally

First Lady Melania Trump will return to the campaign trail on Tuesday, scheduled to join her husband, President Trump at a rally in Erie, Pennsylvania.

“[Melania] will travel with him to his rally in Erie, Pennsylvania,” the First Lady chief of staff Stephanie Grisham said in a statement Monday afternoon. “She’s planning to travel with POTUS on Tuesday.”

The First Lady is not expected to give solo remarks during the campaign rally.

Tuesday’s rally will be Melania first public appearance since testing positive for the coronavirus earlier this month. Last week she announced that she had recovered from the virus in the White House residence, using rest and vitamins.

In 2016, with less than a week before the election, Melania made a campaign appearance in Berwyn, Pennsylvania alongside Second Lady Karen Pence where she gave a solo speech.

This rare campaign appearance where the First Lady will accompany her husband will also be the first in over a year that Melania has attended a rally event this election cycle. The last Trump rally Melania appeared was 16 months ago when Trump officially launched his re-election bid for a second term in a kick-off rally in Orlando, Fl back in June of 2019.

Melania was scheduled to headline a series of high-dollar fundraisers in April for her husband’s re-election effort. Those events were scrapped amid the coronavirus pandemic, and Melania opted not to participate in any virtual events as a substitute for in-person events.

She also plans to attend the final presidential debate in Nashville on Thursday. Regarding future events, it is unknown at the moment of any upcoming appearance or campaign event Melania will partake during the last 15 days of the 2020 election calendar.

Meanwhile, Trump’s adult children have crisscrossed key battleground states hosting several events over the last few weeks. This week, Ivanka Trump is scheduled to make stops in Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Florida. Eric Trump will host events in New Hampshire and Michigan, while his wife, Lara Trump will partake in several events in Nevada and Arizona. The president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr. will head events in North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Even Tiffany Trump is scheduled to host events as she recently hosted an event over the week in Tampa dubbed “Trump Pride,” aimed at the LGBTQ voters.
