Rep. Al Green (D-TX) speaking at George Floyd’s funeral on Tuesday called for the federal government to create a Department of Reconciliation, saying it’s time for the United States “to seek reconciliation for black people.”
“The Congressional Black Caucus is making a difference, but I believe there’s one more thing that we ought to do to make a difference. We have got to have reconciliation,” Green told the several hundred mourners at the Fountain of Praise Church in Houston. “This country has not reconciled its differences with us. We survived slavery, but we didn’t reconcile. We survived segregation, but we didn’t reconcile. We’re suffering discrimination because we didn’t reconcile.”
He added, “It’s time for a Department of Reconciliation in the highest land, the highest office. It’s time to have someone who’s going to make it his or her business to seek reconciliation for black people in the United States of America every day of his life. That’s what it is is all about. It’s time for us to reconcile. We need a Department of Reconciliation.”
Last week, the Texas Democrat stated in a statement that his office has filed a resolution “for the establishment of a Cabinet-level Department of Reconciliation charged with eliminating racism and invidious discrimination.” He stated Floyd’s death at the hands of a Minneapolis police officers should be honored “at the national level” with a federal effort to achieve racial reconciliation.
“We ought to have a secretary of reconciliation who reports directly to the president of the United States, whose job it will be to eliminate racism and discrimination in all of its forms,” Green said during an interview with MSNBC’s Craig Melvin before Floyd’s funeral.
Green is among the hundred Democratic lawmakers who have sponsored a legislation to develop reparation proposals for African Americans. According to the bill summary, the commission will “examine slavery and discrimination in the colonies and the United States from 1619 to the present and recommend appropriate remedies.” It was introduced last year in January and the last action was in June 2019 where a subcommittee hearing was held.

June 10, 2020Good old Al, like Demented-Dems everywhere, “never let a crisis go to waste”, now, more correctly, never let an “imaginary” crisis go to waste when you can pour gasoline on it.
Democrats, Black Lies Matter, Antifa and other Domestic Terrorist’s have “milked” the death of Mr. Floyd to the point they have made created a caricature of his life and end of life. The funeral procession coverage reminded me of the OJ chase in a white Bronco and the murders of two White Americans . . . . but 100% opposite in composition.

June 10, 2020GFY, Green. All blacks need to do to get ahead in the US is to get jobs and work hard. MANY blacks have made it to the top just by doing that.

June 10, 2020They don’t want “reconciliation”, they want REVENGE. They want to take every grievance they’ve had against our ANCESTORS (not us) for doing things we had NOTHING to do with, and turn it into a war. They only thing that keeps them feeling inferior to whites is their attitude, not whites. We don’t go out rioting any time a white person gets killed by a black person…. we’d be doing that shit every day. Where is their outrage when a white person gets killed by a black person? Hypocrites, and stupid racists…. exactly what they accuse US of being (I’m white) when they really should self-examine their motives, and deep rooted anger at their life’s situation as a whole. If they want to be treated as equals, why don’t they behave like peaceful human beings? Do they WANT us to hate them now?

June 10, 2020I have been watching all of this George Floyd coverage on TV and I am just a bit confused. Now I get it that the police officer that killed this man was wrong, there were a dozen ways that this could have and should have been handled. That being said Mr. Floyd was by no means a martyr for the cause of Black Rights; he was in fact a criminal. He was in fact high on drugs at the time of his arrest and he had in fact tried to pass counterfeit money. To the best of my knowledge this is still a crime. Now on a couple of other comments I made this very same statement and got a whole bunch of really nasty replys, the one that was echoed through out all of them was that I was a Racist. I just happened upon a video on YouTube titled “Candace Owens gives George Floyd Facts” I am giving you the title just in case the link below does not work. Miss Owens is Black and a Conservative. I would encourage everyone to watch this video and if you are Black or have Black friends this will be especially enlightening for you and for them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fij8TP0FE00

June 10, 2020Reconciliation to the Blacks, for what?! What do we owe them? I don’t understand all this kow-towing to a group of people that just helped destroy their own neighborhoods and now they want the President to pay them? Let the terrorists clean up up and rebuild, it’s the least they can do and send the bill to that Nazi scumbag soros.
