Dan Liu S/S 2019

The opening of Dan Liu’s show began with a masked wolf dressed in traditional Japanese garb doing a samurai dance down the runway.  “Ima, Nippon” the theme of the show, which means “Nowadays Japan-Part I” was the inspiration of the designer, Dan Liu’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection. “To be continued” sign was seen after the samurai dance, letting everyone know Part II of this collection will be showcased in February 2019.

Following the performance was a stunning collection of cocktail dresses inspired by the designer Japanese heritage. The cocktail pieces included laces, rainbow and floral prints, with some having embroidered butterfly accents or cat headpieces. The colors Liu focused on this collection were black, blue, pink and white, with some pieces having mixed colors and patterns to show diversity. Models walked very slow down the long U runway with each makeup done constant in a geisha style of red lips, red blush triangle on their cheeks and dramatic eyeliner.
