Former FBI Director James Comey endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden in the Democratic primary on Twitter, but the Biden’s campaign says no thanks and asked to “return it, free of charge” the endorsement.
“Yes, customer service? I just received a package that I very much did not order,” Andrew Bates, director of rapid response for Biden’s campaign wrote on Twitter in response to Comey’s endorsement. “How can I return it, free of charge?”

The former FBI Director voted in his first Democratic primary in Virginia on Super Tuesday, tweeted that he agreed with Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) that the party needs a “candidate who cares about all Americans and will restore decency, dignity to the office” and voted for Biden.
“I agree with @amyklobuchar: We need candidate who cares about all Americans and will restore decency, dignity to the office,” Comey wrote. “There is a reason Trump fears @joebiden and roots for Bernie. #Biden2020.”
Comey donated $2,700 to Klobuchar’s campaign last year, while his wife made two separate contributions — $1,000 and $1,700 during the first quarter of 2019. Both Comey and Klobuchar were in the same law school class at the University of Chicago.
Klobuchar endorsed Biden on Monday at a rally in Dallas where she announced that she is ending her own Democratic presidential bid and throw her support behind the former vice president.
Despite garnering national attention and praise for her primary debate performances, the Minnesota senator never managed to break into the top tier of candidates in polls and often lagged behind the race’s front-runners in fundraising. Her best showing in the nominating contest was in New Hampshire, where she scored a third-place finish.
Biden has garnered a slew of endorsements across the nation since winning the South Carolina Primary on Saturday with almost 50 percent of the vote.
