Biden 'Strongly Supports' Moving MLB All-Star Game Out Of Atlanta Over Voting Law

President Biden told ESPN in an interview that he “strongly supports” Major League Baseball possibly decision to move the 2021 All-Star Game out of Georgia in response to the state’s new voting integrity reform — which the Democrat claims the newly-signed law is “Jim Crow on steroids.”

ESPN’s Sage Steele asked Biden in an interview that aired on Sportcenter Wednesday night what he thought about Major League Baseball Players Association executive director Tony Clark saying he “would look forward” to discussing moving the July 13 “Midsummer Classic” out of Atlanta due to the new law.

“I think today’s professional athletes are acting incredibly responsibly. I would strongly support them doing that. People look to them. They’re leaders,” Biden said. “Look what’s happened with the NBA, as well. Look what’s happened across the board. The very people who are victimized the most are the people who are the leaders in these various sports, and it’s just not right.”

Biden characterized the new Georgia law as “Jim Crow on steroids” by repeating unfounded false and debunked claims that even the Washington Post slapped “Four-Pinocchios” on the president’s statement. His comments echo a growing chorus of mass hysteria from Democrats who decided to negatively portray the Georgia law as a “voter suppression” bill, and “Jim Crow 2.0,” as part of their political strategy to pass their own radical voting reform known as H.R/S.R 1 in Capitol Hill that would overturn 50 state election laws.

“This is Jim Crow on steroids what they’re doing in Georgia and 40 other states,” Biden said. “What’s it all about? Imagine passing a law saying you cannot provide water or food for someone standing in line to vote. Can’t do that? Come on. Or you’re going to close the polling place at 5 o’clock when people just get off? This is all about keeping working folks that I grew up with from being able to vote.”

Georgia became the first battleground state to pass voting reform that makes it easier to vote, but harder to cheat. The new law includes enacts new identification requirements for voters requesting abseentee ballots by one providing their driver’s license number, the last four digits of their Social Security number or a copy of some other accepted form of identification. Under prior rules, voters would signed an absentee-ballot application and signed an inside envelope containing the ballot when they mailed it in.

The law also places new limits on how parties and voting groups mail out absentee-ballot request forms, and limits the number of ballot drop boxes to one per county except for large counties, which can set up one box for every 100,000 registered voters. Drop boxes were allowed in Georgia only as a temporary measure amid the coronavirus pandemic, but the new law now allows for drop boxes to stay, a thing Georgia didn’t even had in 2019. To help ease the burden at overcrowded polling spots and encourage people to vote, it extends early voting to 17 days and requiring that counties make two Saturdays “mandatory” open for early voting. It also gives the state election board more authority to remove and appoint officials.

Regarding the bogus claims that Biden continously repeats regarding the ban of giving food and water to those line waiting to vote is an electioneering measure that is imposed across the nation including even in the president’s own state. Georgia clarified its law prohibiting electioneering within 150 feet of a polling place or 25 feet of anyone waiting in line by saying politically involved groups wooing voters with free food and drinks couldn’t operate that close to the polls and lines. The law allows only for election officials providing “self-service water from an unattended receptacle to an elector waiting in line to vote.”

With the line Biden has echoed outrageously in saying the law “closes the polling place at 5 o’clock when people just get off” to claim it was intended to make it harder for people to vote, fact-checkers have proven that line from the president to be false despite the White House also doubling down on this line. No state closes its polls at 5 pm and Georgia’s election reforms left the state’s 7 am to 7 pm polling hours unchanged.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) shortly after the interview laid into Biden for his lobbying opposition, calling his push to get the All-Star Game out of Atlanta a “distraction” that is designed to distract from the crisis at the US-Mexico border.

“When the president of the United States says something, you know a lot of people pay attention,” Kemp said in a Fox News interview Thursday. “He’s trying to distract from the border crisis that he has, where smugglers are dropping young children over 15-foot-high walls.”

“Joe Biden needs to focus on things he can control, like the southern border,” Kemp added. “That’s all this is. It’s a distraction. They’re using it to pass an unconstitutional mandate in H.R. 1. It’s all part of a political narrative that they’re pushing. And we’re going to continue to fight that.”

He’s focused on trying to get Major League Baseball to pull the game out of Georgia, which is ridiculous.”

Kemp has faced major blowback from Biden, who is now pushing Congress to pass H.R.1 while suggesting removing the Senate filibuster to get the majority of his progressive legislation passed, as well as major Atlanta-based companies including Delta Airlines and Coca-Cola who are caving into woke liberals boycott calls. The Georgia governor also said that he wouldn’t bow to the corporate bullying, arguing that corporations that have opposed the new law won’t get back onboard due to activist pressure.
